With new machines being installed around the world from FitQuest including Poland, Brazil, Egypt and the UK, we’ve taken a look at some of the more unusual fitness trends keeping the masses entertained across the globe! Here’s an insight into some of the trends taking the fitness world by storm.
- Chase tag!
Relive your youth with a game of tag with a whole new twist – Chase tag! The game is known around the world by a range of other names including It!, You’re it! or Tig (UK), Tag (USA), Onigokko (Japan), Abfangen or Kriege Zeck (Germany / Austria), Ce L’hai (italy), Kynigito (Greece), Tikkertje (Netherlands), Lovitca (Croatia), Hippa (Finland), Tagaanay (Philippines), Kull, Varg, Pjätt or Leka ta fatt (Sweden), Apanhada (Portugal), Na honenou (Czech Republic), Shila (Algeria), Le Loup or Chat (France), Ostrakinda (Ancient Greece), Chasey (Australia). Chase Tag takes all the best bits of the original game and combines them parkour and free running recruiting the best players to compete against one another from around the world!

2. Aerial yoga
Aerial yoga offers many of the same benefits as more traditional yoga but adds a whole new dimension with the use of fabric hammocks suspended by carabiners. Use of the hammocks can allow you a greater freedom of movement enabling you to adjust your body position which in some cases can allow an increased stretch. With the additional instability and increased impact of gravity, aerial yoga will give you a fantastic core workout whilst combining a fun, new experience with the effective stress release every good yoga class offers.

3. Clubbercise
Combine the highs of a night out with the healthiness of a workout! Clubbercise blends simple, aerobic and street dance movements, including high and low impact options, with banging tunes and a nightclub atmosphere. 4. Floating Yoga/Floatfit
Yoga moves and interval training combined with balancing on a paddle board! A little bit of everything thrown in to create a workout that is suitable for all abilities. The concept was created out of a passion for being on the water combined with the mind, body connectivity of yoga.
5. Mermaid classes
Yoga, Pilates, Barre with deep water aerobics with the added sparkle of a mermaid fin has been enticing people to workouts in San Diego. The workouts focus on embracing a playful, spiritual attitude with whole body movements to replicate mermaid like kicks with a focus on connecting the body and spirit.
6. Bungee workout
Another indoor, aerial workout for the adventurous gymgoer. Originally launched in Thailand, this workout combines dance and aerobics allowing participants to perform a range of moves including hanging upside down, bouncing off the floor and walls and a series of extraordinary aerial moves to give you a high intensity, total body and killer core workout
