GLL launch pilot project with FitQuest

FitQuest, industry leaders in human performance monitoring, has partnered with Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) to install FitQuest machines in their centres as part of a pilot project, bringing the fitness tracking product into the local authority sector for the first time. The first machine was installed at Sugden Sports Centre in Manchester at the beginning of July, with more machines expected to be fitted into further centres in the coming months.

FitQuest, powered by MIE medical, helps to address the growing popularity of fitness tracking in gyms, providing a comprehensive fitness assessment which helps members improve their overall health and wellbeing. The technology measures a person’s physical capacity over eight parameters in just four minutes, offering a wider range of data and feedback to users than other devices available, as well as a much more accurate analysis. This unique testing can support operators’ goals by offering tailored exercise programming for gym goers, based on a breadth of data on their physical fitness.

The machines are also fitted with MIE FitQuest Body Composition Analyser, which uses standard techniques to determine body composition. Through small, varying electrical currents, the machines can determine body fat and muscle percentage as well as a user’s hydration levels. In addition to the standard FitQuest score which measures fitness against average gender and age groups, the new machines will provide a more complete assessment for users with both a fitness and body composition analysis.

“We are extremely excited to install our FitQuest BIA machine in Sugden Sports Centre as part of our pilot project with GLL,” said Brian Firth, FitQuest CEO. “We are sure the FitQuest BIA machine will be extremely successful in helping individuals at the centre to monitor and track their progress in the gym, as well as being an excellent asset for personal trainers to develop effective training plans for their clients. We look forward to working closely with Greenwich Leisure Limited in the coming months to maximise the success of the project and roll out the machines into further centres across the country.”

“We are always looking to provide our clients with the latest technological advances to help them meet their goals. With the current popularity and need for people to be able to monitor and track their progress tangibly, FitQuest is the perfect partner for us and we are excited to bring it to our members,” said Marco Coppola, Head of Health and Fitness at Greenwich Leisure Limited. “Not only do we expect our members to fully engage with the equipment, but our personal trainers will be able to utilise the tools to provide clients with effective plans to ensure they maintain motivation and continue to progress.”

GLL are looking to roll out the machines across a number of their centres around the country in the coming months, with a focus on Manchester, as they aim to enhance the number of digital enterprises they have in place for the area.
